Week 6 - Term 3 - 2022

 Kua takoto te manuka

The leaves of the manuka tree have been laid down

This is a form of wero, that is preformed in very formal situations on the Marae. It is when you are challenged and you answer that challenge depending on how pick up the leaves. The wero is to see whether you come in peace or as an enemy. This proverb is used when being challenged, or you have a challenge ahead of you.

Information for Staff

1. Literacy examples - All staff have access to the literacy presentation to share what is happening across the learning areas - there are some great examples in there already. Please open and add in what you are doing in this space.

2. Education potential - On Monday afterschool in the boardroom (126) there will be a demonstration for anyone interested around a new way we could use our school data. It is a program that sits above Kamar and allows all staff to 'inquire into assessment data, analyse it to identify opportunities for growth and then act to target solutions that improve learner outcomes'.

3. Blooket is a great way to review learning, offering a variety of games to keep student engaged.
You can create quizzes from scratch or import existing quizzes from Quizlet or data from a spreadsheet.
