As next week is Te Wiki o Te reo Māori here are a few resources that could be of interest:
1. Culturally responsive teaching is based on creating a culture of care and welcoming warmth in a classroom. A culture of care values each student of the class and the teacher regardless of their culture or way of being. The Educultural Wheel from Macfarlane, 2004, offers a framework for introducing culturally inclusive classroom strategies premised on five core values that underpin an Indigenous Māori world view.

You might find the statistics below from the recent Angus MacFarlane lecture of interest regarding teacher understanding of cultural ways of thinking, acting and believing....
2. It might be timely to revisit Tataiako - https://teachingcouncil.nz/sites/default/files/Tataiako_FINAL_web_mar16.pdf
3. As shared by the Teaching Council in their email yesterday, 'A case study of culturally responsive practice at Rotorua Girls' High School.
