1. Recently Michelle attended an online Hybrid Learning Webinar - the recording can be found here. and the slides of the presentation can be accessed HERE

This is a useful resource as we head into phase 3!

2. The following graphic is a good conversation starter or can be used for reflection. Which character represents who you were at high school and why.
Think about what conversations you may have around student behaviour if you are wanting to bring about change. Useful for those who may want to practice their restorative conversations.

3. A little bit of NZ History for the week - 3 March 1960 - Barry Crump released 'A good keen man' on of New Zealand's most popular books ever, selling more than a million copies. Crump continued writing and his 20 books captured the humour and personalities of rural New Zealand life.

Also for those of us on our te reo Māori journey - a few key phrases to try this week:
  • Formal farewell: Haere rā - said to the person leaving.
  • Informal farewells: Ka kite anō - see you later or Mā te wā - if you don't know when you will see them again.
  • And you could try Kia tau te mauri - if your class noise levels are getting up there -  think of it as 'be calm' or 'chill'.

1. As we continue our cultural responsive PLD from afar - here are a few more resources that you can explore.

a. Build understanding of Mātauranga Maori and Matariki - a podcast from last years ULearn.

c. Here are some links and resources from the Ann Milne webinar/hui that went ahead yesterday afternoon (17/2):

One of the slides showed the link to the video 'a girl like me' - made in 2005. In 2017 a group of students replicated this study with NZ Māori students - but showed no social progression/change. An interesting discussion and/or cultural conversation.
Move into 3 mins and 42 sec for the expt.
