Information for Staff
1. Restraint training for teachers: From February 2024, new legislation will be in place for restraint training. All teaching staff will need to complete a module (with a test) around the new rules and regulations. Departments will need to set aside a time to go through this (will discuss at L&T on Monday.
In the meantime, if you are interested in what this might look like, the Ministry of Education has released resources with the updated guidelines for schools.
2. Need some tips for your Do Now / Mahi tuatahi? The following post by Craig Barton covers this nicely.
Tips include: Tell your students why you are doing the 'Do Now', Make the first question easy, Consider not asking students to copy the question, Circulate the room and consider how you will check for understanding. To find out more, watch the video below.
