2 NZQA has released an Insights paper looking into
factors that impact on equitable participation of Māori and Pacific students in
New Zealand Scholarship.
Based on two years of research, the paper
finds that entries for ākonga Māori and Pacific students for NZ Scholarship are
at disproportionately low rates, and typically in fewer NZ Scholarship
subjects. Amongst the paper’s recommendations, it notes that achievement of 14
or more Excellence credits at NCEA Level 2 in a subject can be used as one of
the signposts that a student has the potential of achieving NZ Scholarship in
that subject. This may help with your consideration into who is entered into the Scholarship examinations.
3. The Definitive Guide to Artificial Intelligence in New Zealand - Danny Bedingfield from Cyclone held a webinar yesterday on the implications of AI in NZ schools. He had done a lot of background research and bought up a number of implications and considerations for NZ schools. Out of this, we will look at school wide policy linked to assessment.
The Webinar can be watched HERE and is available for the next 2 months.
The relevant slides from the webinar with various links can be accessed HERE.
