Information for Staff

1. As we come to the end of Te Wiki Te reo Māori, here are a couple of interesting articles and other resources:

a. He Reo Ka-Tipu - Growing Te reo  Māori in New Zealand schools. This is a literature review that has been released this week to support teachers that are looking to strengthen their reo Māori teaching and learning programmes. It is primary focused but has goals and explanations that are also relevant to NZ Secondary schools.

b. Te reo Māori in classrooms - Georgina Stewart (Set 2014)

c. Create and learn your own pepeha at https://pepeha.nz/create-pepeha

d. If you would like to refresh your knowledge of the history of the area around CGHS, you may want to read "The values and history of the Ōtākaro and North and East Frames" by Associate Professor Te Maire Tau.

e. At the staff meeting where we looked at indicators to evaluate where we are as a school around our CRP (see previous Matai for summary link). You may also be interested in reflecting on your own classroom practice and complete an audit of what you are doing and where your work on's might be. The following checklist could be useful - Click HERE for details.

f. And finally a great song, recently released by Six60.
