Information for Staff
1. TOD 25 November -
In term two, the local Ministry of Education office worked with the Canterbury West
Coast Secondary Principals Association (CWCSPA) to survey schools and produce a
report about the NCEA change implementation programme.
Overwhelmingly, the
request was for a ‘Jumbo Day’ approach to the next teacher-only day.
Therefore, in response, we are now under way with planning for a ‘Jumbo Day’ for the
next accord NCEA TOD on Thursday 25th of November.
They are excited by the prospect of such a day for our colleagues to collaborate/share ideas/learn from each other around Level 1 standards in subject areas. The outcomes
of the day will be aligned with those outlined by National Office.
The plan is to have the day split across schools based on the eight learning areas.
Within these learning areas, teachers will have the opportunity to work in subject
groups.
The Accord Teacher Only Days for 2022 are now available at https://ncea.education.govt.nz/teacher-only-days
2. Staff summary of the Mātauraka Mahaanui Indicators - Thank you for completing the audit to gives us an overview of where as a school we should be further strengthening our culturally responsive practice. A full break down can be found HERE.
An overall summary against the targets (see link above for the sheet). The overall theme for the 3 areas appears to be in the 'emerging' section.
