Information for Staff

1. Monday 12 November: Due to the juniors arriving late on this day, we will have our late start in the staffroom for all teaching staff, beginning at 8.45. Departments can meet for the remainder of the morning for planning for 2019 time.

2. You may follow events happening at the Education Hub already, but if not I’d like to share the online free event – The Science of Learning webinar. The upcoming events page is here and the registration link is here. We know that there is debate around the skills focus as opposed to knowledge focus in schools, and this looks to be a really interesting discussion into the science of learning  based on research that is to be released in the upcoming report:
3. PLD Opportunity:
Every year we run two very popular workshops – Being an Effective Dean and Being an Effective HOD.  These are always over-subscribed and the feedback we receive from participants and schools is always extremely positive.  Your middle leaders will walk away with a clearer understanding of their role and how to effectively fulfil their responsibilities including practical steps to manage their time, run productive meetings, work more effectively with their colleagues and students.

For the first time ever, on request, the Being an Effective Dean workshop has been extended to two days to broaden the programme and allow for more in-depth coverage and discussion.

Each workshop is available in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.  For full details of what each workshop will entail, please see the attached flyers or our website
